Thank you, Robyn, for another beautiful Virgin River story. Having read each and every single one of them, it's like visiting old friends. Not only do your readers get to meet "new comers," we find out, with every novel, how our old friends are doing. I love them. I've never been to north California. Never seen a redwood tree. But, I feel as if I've spent a great deal of time there and have made a great many friends in the area. Thanks, again.Tags : Redwood Bend (A Virgin River Novel) [Robyn Carr] on Amazon.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. Redwood Bend A Virgin River Novel Robyn Carr 9780778313106 Books Reviews
I have read two other books in this series and have enjoyed them all. I am an ex military helicopter pilot who is now a rural farmer/rancher, so I was able to relate to several of the main characters in these books. Dylan (a MC in this book) lives on a very small ranch in Montana that sounds like it could be just down the road from me. Also he is a pilot who owns an FBO/charter business. Of course his 60 acres does not qualify as a real ranch in Montana. You would have trouble fitting a small airport on 60 acres let alone a runway capable of handling Learjets and BBJs. Also, it's a bull moose not a buck moose. They can be quite sensitive about such things, and you don't want to offend a large bull moose. I'm sure Mrs. Carr knows this and just included these errors so I could feel superior. Thanks. Five stars from me.
What can I say. Redwood Bend is a great story.Dylan and Katie's character development was definitely the forefront of the plot. The town is there, but it definitely takes a back seat to the plot. This storyline is all about the hero and heroine.
The plot is great. There is plenty of time to get to know Katie and Dylan. Now I feel like they are close friends of mine. I enjoyed reading this book very much. I have to say my family took a back seat until l finally finished reading the whole story. The ending actually surprised me. Good for you Robyn. So far the Virgin River Series is my favorite.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I have. I highly recommend it. Have fun!
The idea of the story was a really good one- a widowed mom (with twins) and a 'biker' type meeting up. Except, he's not really a biker. He's an actor slash pilot slash occasional biker. Okay...
Gee, so they meet. They continue to meet. They date. I don't want to give away the plot. What I didn't like about the book, was that this book was about her being a mom of twins- and there was one cute line where he was able to tell them apart (most couldn't). Wish there was more stuff like that. This was book that just had too many drag spots. As I write this, I can remember- "oh yeah...such and such happened" which was exciting- but you had to wade through mire to get to it.
I had no desire to read any other book in the series after this one.
I enjoy all of her love stories they are filled with realistic characters that draw you into their lives and fill you with curiosity of what will happen next and you become a part of the book and want to read more and more of her stories. I appreciate her talents in writing and thank her for her stories and hope to be able to read many more.
I have loved the Virgin River series since I started with Virgin River 20 some books ago and this one was one of my favorites. Dylan is one of my favorite Heros - a hot misguided child star all grown up to be the man his grandmother could be proud of - after one of his best friends overdosed in their teens. Dylan rides a Harley into Virgin River with one of R Carrs other great heros Walt from Summer in Sonoma. It was great to see him again - the lovable tough looking Harley motorcycle shop owner who found love in another of her books.
Robyn Carr cranks out some of the best heros I've read. This one kept me hooked from beginning to end.
Robyn Carr has me completely hooked on the town of Virgin River. I love how she keeps working New characters into the town all the time. Her description of surroundings makes me want to hop in the car and go see these places myself. Her story lines are wonderful, and just when I feel I know where the story is headed she throws in a fun surprise along the way. Can't wait for next book.
I'm up to the 20th book in the Virgin River series. They're my bedtime stories. Although the books are well written and I've enjoyed getting to know the characters and their wonderful town, when it's not bedtime, I read much more substantial story lines. Therefore I am not giving more than 3 stars for any of these books. They are all pretty much the same but with different scenarios and character love stories. Easy reading before sleep.
